prohibition of heating with oil and gas

German Economy Minister Robert Habek developed a bill on the prohibition of heating with oil and gas in the heating by 2045. It is reported by Bild, regarding the draft document.

“The economics minister wants to ban oil and gas heating in the future. The first phase (could start) as early as 2024,” the publication said.

According to the bill, from 2024, only heating systems that produce heat “at least 65% from renewable energy sources” will be allowed to be installed.

It is noted that already installed heating systems running on oil or gas, if the bill is passed, can not be used for more than 30 years. In this case, about 30 million families in Germany currently use them. In the future, the country plans to abandon oil and gas altogether.

According to the newspaper, Habek hopes for support for the bill from the government coalition “Traffic Light” during its discussion in March.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that the country is adapting to the reality of non-cooperation with Russia.

Earlier we reported that oil went down on signals of rising U.S. inventories.
