Global computer market predicted to continue falling in 2023: notebook computer shipments decline

Global notebook computer shipments and desktops will reach 84.6 million units in 2023, which will be 2.1% less than in 2022. It is reported by the Taiwanese analytical agency DigiTimes Research.
Analysts believe that in 2023, personal computer shipments worldwide will almost fully recover after taking off in 2020-2021 and plummeting in 2022. Then the market is likely to show positive dynamics again. Microsoft also risks losing some profits.
It is noted that 86.4 million PCs will be sold in 2022, 10.9% less than they were in the relevant year of 2019. According to DigiTimes Research, the factors that most negatively impacted the market in 2022 were the SWO in Ukraine, which disrupted many logistics processes, and the ongoing lockdowns in China due to COVID-19.
Regarding demand, one of the most unpromising categories of PCs in 2023 may be monoblocks (devices that have the elements of the system unit placed in the monitor – ed.). The niche peaked in 2021 and has seen a sharp decline since then. In 2022, the supply of monoblocks will decrease by 22%.
Earlier, we reported that the U.S. stock market closed lower, with the Dow Jones down 0.90%.
