Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the gained 0.44%, while the index gained 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the were Wipro Ltd (NS:), which rose 6.43% or 27.90 points to trade at 461.90 at the close. Meanwhile, HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:) added 2.67% or 37.95 points to end at 1,460.00 and Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:) was up 2.37% or 148.00 points to 6,394.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:), which fell 1.83% or 38.10 points to trade at 2,047.50 at the close. HDFC Bank Ltd (NS:) declined 1.07% or 18.00 points to end at 1,668.70 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:) was down 1.04% or 76.55 points to 7,290.60.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Wipro Ltd (BO:) which rose 6.59% to 462.70, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.83% to settle at 1,462.00 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:) which gained 2.01% to close at 10,214.90.
The worst performers were State Bank Of India (BO:) which was down 1.13% to 636.65 in late trade, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.00% to settle at 7,295.25 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.98% to 993.85 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 0 to 0; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 0 fell and 0 advanced.
Shares in Wipro Ltd (NS:) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.43% or 27.90 to 461.90. Shares in Wipro Ltd (BO:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.59% or 28.60 to 462.70.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.36% to 13.71.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.64% or 13.20 to $2,064.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.54% or 0.40 to hit $73.49 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.21 to trade at $78.80 a barrel.
USD/INR was unchanged 0.00% to 83.17, while EUR/INR rose 0.07% to 91.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 101.36.
