The U.S. military withdrew 137 tanks of oil with the participation of Kurdish forces in the northeast of the country on Sunday morning. This was reported by the SANA news agency. It is expected to have an impact on oil prices around the world.

According to the agency, the U.S. military withdrew into Iraq two convoys of oil tankers of 122 and 15 cars, respectively. It is specified that the fuel was extracted from Syrian fields in the Al-Jazeera region. The convoys were taken out with the support of Kurdish formations through the illegal border crossing “Mahmoudia”.

Earlier, the U.S. military had taken almost 89 tanks of oil from Syria to Iraq. The tanks were also taken out through the Mahmoudia crossing, located near the town of al-Yarubiya in the governorate (province) of al-Haseq. This had a serious impact on Brent crude oil prices.

At the moment U.S. troops are on the territory of northern Syria. It is there that the most important oil fields for the country are concentrated.
